BARONESSA

1998 imported German Oldenburg Verband black mare
(Day Dream/Rubinstein I/Westminster)

Baronessa is a striking black mare with a "look at me" presence that gets her noticed wherever she goes. She is pictured above with her 2003 black bay filly by Davignport, named Dolcezza.

Baronessa is branded and registered German Oldenburg Verband and was imported to the U.S. in 2001. She is Main Studbook approved for breeding with the German Oldenburg Verband, American Hanoverian Society and the Westfälischen Pferdestammbuch eV. View Baronessa's pedigree:

Baronessa is currently pursuing her riding career with an eye towards the FEI levels in the next year.

Baronessa had a successful start to her 2008 show season with JJ aboard. They qualified for the BLM Finals with a 64.773% in Fourth Level, Test 2 and a 2nd place finish.

In Fourth Level, Test 3, JJ and Baronessa earned a 64.634% and another red ribbon.

Baronessa enjoyed the winter months in Wellington, FL with JJ Tate preparing for her FEI show career. She shows particular affinity for canter pirouettes and is progressing well in her serial tempi changes. Shari enjoys a ride on Baronessa in Florida after many months out of the saddle related to back surgery.

What a beautiful face!

In November 2006, Baronessa was selected to ride in a private clinic with George Williams at Chesapeake Dressage Institute in Annapolis, Maryland. Brendan Curtis, age 22, one of the Robert Dover Dressage Idol contestants, got the "catch" ride, when Shari hurt her back a few days before the clinic. They made a terrific team!

Baronessa, the proverbial "working mother," was started back under saddle when her Hanoverian filly, Dolcezza, was 3 weeks old. Here she is with her filly taking a much needed rest!
