Facility

GoodNess Ridge Farm is located in Mount Airy, Maryland. We are situated on 27 picturesque acres, high up on a hill, and surrounded by beautiful neighboring Frederick County farmland. There are a total of 25 stalls–19 in the main barn, 4 in the lower barn, and 2 in the shedrow barn. Each of the 12 x 12 stalls are matted and have large Dutch windows to the outside.
The main barn has a heated wash stall, lounge with bathroom, two climate-controlled tackrooms with individual lockers and a feedroom/laundry room. Fifteen turnout fields, many with run-in sheds, are available for horses on private, semi-private or small group turnout and range in size from .5 acre to more than 6 acres. Most of the pastures are surrounded by Centaur (flexible rail) fencing, providing both an attractive and safe environment for the horses during turnout. All of the turnout fields have the innovative Bar-Bar-A automatic waterers.
The indoor and outdoor arenas both have special footing which provides the proper depth and cushion to enhance the performance of the horses at GoodNess Ridge Farm. Dust is minimized with watering systems in both arenas, which are groomed daily or as needed to maintain an excellent riding surface. Our clients enjoy hacking out on the farm’s gentle hills.
GoodNess Ridge Farm offers limited boarding. Please contact Shari for more information on rates and availability. Visitors welcome by appointment.
