We are sad to report that Baronessa's (embryo transfer) black colt by San Amour born on April 20, 2008 died at birth. He was perfect in every way and just what we hoped for when planning this cross. The recipient mare did not have normal labor contractions and despite the heroic efforts of our veterinarian and the foaling attendants this young life could not be saved. We may repeat this pairing in the future.

San Amour is a fascinating Sandro Hit son with a breath-taking, rhythmical trot and an ultramodern look. San Amour was Second Reserve Champion at the Oldenburger Approvals. He is a beautiful stallion with dynamic movement and the required uphill gaits powered by a very active hind-quarter. While his trot is especially impressive, San Amour has an elastic uphill jumping canter and a roomy expressive walk. His natural rideability and charm made him the most sought after stallion at the Oldenburger Approvals selling for € 450,000. San Amour finished his 70DT with a superior dressage index of 137.74 and 126.49 points overall. He was twice awarded a 9.5 for his excellent rideability!

San Amour is out of one of the best dam lineages. His dam, the Elite Mare Puppenfee, is a stunning mover and the full-sister to the approved stallion Pierrot Royal. San Amour's damsire, Plaisir d'Amour, has won many Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Freestyle competitions. His damsire, Figaro, is known as a producer of performance sport horses with top rideability. Kronprinz xx in the 3rd generation adds the coveted thoroughbred lineage and additional durability. There have already been numerous top sport horses from this bloodline such as the approved stallion, Boticello.

San Amour stands in Germany at the Paul Schockemöhle stud. Thanks to Stephanie Law for taking the following in-hand video of San Amour at his licensing in Vechta. I don't know who gets the credit for this under saddle video of San Amour posted on AOL Video, but it clearly demonstrates San Amour's extraordinary gaits and rideability.
